Christ Lutheran Preschool

Christ Lutheran School is committed to partnering with parents by providing a Christ-centered preschool program designed for three- and four-year-olds. Our nurturing environment fosters a love for learning through joyful experiences enriched with early literacy, music, math, science, art, and play. Through daily Bible lessons, children develop a strong foundation in faith, learning to love God and one another.

Families can choose from flexible scheduling options, including two-, three-, or five-day programs. We offer both full-day and half-day sessions, as well as an extended care option before school to accommodate busy schedules.

Programs and Tuitions

Christ Lutheran School offers a Christ-centered, state-licensed preschool where children grow through early literacy, math, science, art, and play. Daily Bible stories, prayer, and songs nurture their love for God and one another.

Preschool runs September–May with half-day, full-day, and extended care options. Programs are open to children turning three by September 1, as well as four-year-olds and young fives.

CLS Preschool Program and Curriculum Plan

At enrollment, parents receive a paper copy of our Emergency Preparedness Plan and may request a hard or electronic copy anytime.

Our enrollment packet includes required forms such as emergency contacts, health and immunization records, and personal care details. It also outlines tuition agreements, policies, and our program plan. Please inform us of any special care needs for your child.

We are licensed to serve 20 preschoolers turning three by September 1, as well as four-year-olds and young fives.

Curriculum

Our Christ-centered curriculum supports physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual growth. We incorporate the HighScope Curriculum for structured planning, routines, and assessment.

  • Daily Bible stories, songs, and prayer help children learn about God’s love.
  • We foster worship through prayer, music, and joyful interactions.
  • We align with MN Early Learning Standards to support appropriate skill development.
  • The HighScope Curriculum promotes active, play-based learning.
  • We balance child-initiated and teacher-directed activities.
  • Materials and activities promote cultural diversity and meet individual needs.
  • We introduce kindergarten readiness skills, including literacy, math, and motor development.

Assessment/Evaluation

Teachers observe students daily, documenting progress in key developmental areas. We follow HighScope’s Key Developmental Indicators, assessing learning in eight domains: approaches to learning, social-emotional development, physical development, language and literacy, math, creative arts, science, and social studies. Parent-teacher conferences are held in fall and spring, with written assessments provided.

Our classroom includes designated spaces for different learning experiences:

  • Dramatic Play Area: Encourages social and emotional development.
  • Science/Nature Area: Sparks curiosity with rotating natural materials.
  • Art & Writing Area: Enhances creativity, literacy, and fine motor skills.
  • Block Play Area: Supports math, intellectual, and social growth.
  • Sensory Activities Area: Promotes literacy, intellectual, and emotional development.
